Make up inspiration via Actress Monica Vitti

Make up inspiration via Actress Monica Vitti

Retro Glam at it’s finest…

Monica Vitti (born 3 November 1931) is an Italian actress most widely noted for her frosty expressiveness and starring roles in films by Michelangelo Antonioni

……Oh how I adore a classic up do with tousled bangs that frame the face.

You can create the eye make up look with products from Pin Up Cosmetics

After prepping the eye lid using a wet liner brush, dip a small amount of loose mineral shadow/liner in Raven. Apply close the lash line, gradually apply a thicker line just out side the edge of the eye until you have created a cat eye effect-as seen in the above photo. Never apply a thick coat of eye make up all at once. It’s a better effect if you apply small amounts building up to the desired look.

Black is always a great evening look, but if you want to create a perfect cat eye for day I would go with a smoky brown such as Lulu Luxe. Remember it's easy to take any of your mineral eye shadows and create a eye liner. Enjoy!

My AHA moment...

Pin Up Cosmetics puts a fresh spin on natural and vegan beauty.
Hi I am Aprill Lacey the creator of Pin Up Cosmetics. Since I was a young girl I have had a love of old black and white movies, retro Hollywood glamour not to mention the clothing and cosmetics of the 1940s and 1950s.
When I’m shopping at my local health food store in the beauty department I noticed there was nothing that caught my attention when it came to color cosmetics. There are so many quality natural bath and body products with fun packaging-but there were no natural and vegan color cosmetics with a fun hip theme.

I thought how come know one is doing this everything looks so serious and blah. That is when I had my AHA moment! Why don’t I create a natural and vegan color cosmetic line with a retro theme?

Products with tons of pay off and decadent color that looks great on all skin tones.

Most of the 1990s I managed and/or freelanced for various cosmetic companies from classic high end brands to trendy brands. With that knowledge I knew the one universal product that all women loved is lip gloss. So, I took to my kitchen to create my first product an ultra luxurious, non sticky vegan lip gloss called Hot Dish. See all of Pin Up Cosmetics color options for eyes, lips and cheeks.

All Pin Up Cosmetics products are handmade in small batches to assure product freshness. Enjoy!

Vintage Pencil Sharpener

Yes, I’m a make-up junkie but it didn’t start out that way. I’ve collected all things from times past since I was a teen. In my late teens I started collecting vintage purses primarily from the 1940’s-1960’s, needless to say I’m buried in purses. My other favs are vintage house hold items, one of a kind pieces and of course clothing. I came across a great item today, a pencil sharpener. Yes, I said a pencil sharpener. It called out to me! Here it sits proudly upon my desk ready to sharpen my favorite pencil.

Yes I still use pencils! LOL Enjoy the pics….

A natural & organic approach to nourishing your hair

Like many women I use my flat iron daily. I can’t leave the house without using my flat iron; unfortunately my favorite tool damages my hair. So this is what I do once a week to restore my hair, my in home treatment will leave your hair healthy and shiny.

You will need the following

3-Tablespoons of organic olive oil

Note: Use more or less olive oil depending on your hair type

4-Drops of your favorite organic essential oil

Note: Depending on my mood I use honeysuckle, grapefruit or pikake

Blend and apply to clean damp hair. Let hair dry, then proceed with styling.

Enjoy!
